Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our Community Stabilization team. The QMHP will provide short-term, intensive support to individuals experiencing mental health crises in the community. This role is vital in helping clients achieve emotional stability, develop coping strategies, and successfully transition to long-term services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized stabilization plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and skill-building services to clients in the community.
  • Collaborate with case managers, peer support specialists, and other providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor clients’ progress, document services, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Link clients to community resources, outpatient therapy, housing, and other support services.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Medicaid and agency standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and case reviews.
Qualifications
  • Must meet Virginia DMAS qualifications as a QMHP-A.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with mental health or behavioral health needs.
  • Strong crisis intervention, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload in a community setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Community Stabilization or Crisis Services.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and billing requirements.
  • Trauma-informed care and de-escalation training.
  • Flexible work from home options available.
