- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience serving individuals with substance use disorders – IOP Experience.
- Current full licensure as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) – required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient‑centered care.

- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and coordinate appropriate follow‑up care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to ethical standards.
- Manage group/individual therapy sessions.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Clinic Psychologist – required for IOP and PHP and BH hospital‑based departments.
- Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist or Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate – required for the Substance Use Therapist role in hospital‑based departments.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire – remote positions exempt; behavioral health outpatient clinics exempt from state approved curricula but required to take NEC
0170 De‑escalation Techniques and Effective Communication Strategies within 3 months of hire. - Involuntary Commitment Examiner – preferred for inpatient, required for BH Access within one year of hire.
- Notary Public – preferred.
- Additional skills (required):
Good working knowledge of computers; ability to care for behavioral health and substance abuse age‑specific populations.
