Overview: Sentara Careplex is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Intensive Unit.

Third (Nights) – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Full-time (36 hours per week);
Weekend:
Rotating
Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
Educationand Qualifications
- Education: HS – High School Grad or Equivalent
- One of the following programs is acceptable for education:
Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic), or current student enrolled in a clinical program with at least one semester completed in a relevant field, or current work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant. - Experience: One year of health care experience preferred.
- Certifications/Licensure: AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
The Sentara Care Plex Intensive Care Unit is a 24-bed medical-surgical ICU with eICU monitoring. Population includes COPD, CHF, suspected MI, respiratory failure, GI bleeds, pancreatitis, renal and liver failure, multi-organ failure with or without sepsis, and surgical patients (vascular and ENT), with primary stroke center status. ICU devices include PRISMAX and Balloon Pump.
