Better Life Partners is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide substance use care to people struggling with addiction. This evergreen position is always accepting applications and will be opened for active recruitment when the role is ready.

About the role

In this hybrid position you will deliver medical and mental health services to members, integrating telehealth and occasional in‑person care. Your responsibilities include:

  • Performing medical evaluations and initiating medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders
  • Diagnosing and treating medical and mental health complaints at the level of a primary or urgent care provider
  • Co‑facilitating group therapy and medical education meetings with licensed counselors
  • Demonstrating and communicating the core values of Better Life Partners
  • Participating in community research and public‑health data collection efforts
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on case management and care coordination
  • Adhering to professional and ethical standards and maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Attending regular training and company meetings
Qualifications
  • Massachusetts License as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Active DEA registration in the state of licensure
  • Several years of experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, primary or urgent care
  • Strong empathy for individuals and communities facing addiction
  • Willingness to travel locally in Massachusetts
  • Excellent time‑management and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and team‑player mindset
  • Proactive and inquisitive approach to improving care delivery
  • Experience with electronic health records and telemedicine
  • Willingness to pursue cross‑licensure in additional states (reimbursement provided)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional state licenses in New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, and/or Maine
  • Residence within commuting distance to the Springfield office
  • Availability for weekend and/or evening shifts
Work Location Requirements
  • Hybrid and remote work environments, with local travel to partner sites and on‑site meetings as needed
  • When working from home: reliable high‑speed internet, secure privacy of protected health information, quiet workspace, equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset) provided by the company
