The Clinical Instructor is responsible for providing clinical supervision, teaching, and mentorship to nursing and care staff, enabling them to translate theoretical knowledge into safe, patient-centered elder care practice. The role supports clinical competency development, bridges theory-practice gaps, and promotes excellence in clinical standards through evidence-based practice, assessment, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate clinical training and supervision for nursing and care staff in assigned clinical areas.
- Conduct daily clinical teaching, supervision, and elder care clinical rounds to enhance clinical competence.
- Supervise and assess clinical practice in compliance with SNB, AIC, and SLEC requirements.
- Evaluate, document, and provide structured feedback on trainees clinical performance, including final evaluation reports.
- Identify skills and knowledge gaps and assess learning needs of nursing and care staff.
- Develop reflective practice and clinical reasoning skills to close theory-practice gaps.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of elder care.
- Guide junior nurses in managing complex elder care cases and clinical emergencies.
- Collaborate with nursing management and training departments to address learning or performance issues.
- Conduct educational audits to ensure quality clinical learning environments and supervision standards.
- Develop, review, and update clinical supervision frameworks and competency guidebooks.
- Promote effective communication, teamwork, and a culture of continuous improvement in clinical practice.
- Registered Nurse with a valid practicing license from the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong clinical teaching, supervision, and interpersonal skills.
