Overview

Employer Industry: Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management

• Manage intermediate payer denials through research, appeals, and rebilling claims
• Verify and update insurance coverage using EHR tools and payer websites
• Resolve claim edits and payer rejections within the Medicare billing system
• Identify and resolve no response claims, including unbilled and unprocessed claims
• Document claim information clearly and concisely in the EHR

• High school diploma or GED
• Five years of applicable healthcare experience, with two years in insurance follow-up or equivalent role
• One year of Epic experience
• Knowledge of standard insurance billing requirements and payer reimbursement methodologies
• Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications

• Coursework in medical terminology or related revenue cycle functions
• Two to three years of Epic experience
• Experience using revenue cycle knowledge-based tools and AMA manuals
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
