Job Description:

Addison Group is hiring an experienced Inpatient Coding Coordinator to support one of our healthcare clients in a fully remote capacity. This role serves as a bridge between coding teams and leadership, focusing on quality assurance, audit reviews, DRG accuracy, and real-time coder education. The position offers strong visibility and long-term advancement potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform second-level inpatient coding reviews following audits, system edits, and pre-bill findings
  • Analyze DRG variances and support downgrade prevention efforts
  • Educate and mentor coders on coding accuracy and compliance standards
  • Respond to coding questions and complex chart scenarios
  • Provide inpatient coding coverage when workflow volume requires
  • Track productivity and assist with DNFC performance goals
  • Stay current with ICD-10 guidelines and regulatory updates
Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3 to 5+ years of acute care inpatient coding experience
  • Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • RHIT or CCS certification
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Experience with in large multi-facility health systems
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS certification, CPC is ok as well.

  • Fully remote position
  • Holiday rotation required; select holidays may be worked
  • Double-time pay for worked holidays
