Summary

The Field HEOR Scientist works within a field matrix team to engage Access organizations and decision‑makers within their assigned territory. They combine the technical knowledge of HEOR with the knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system’s business models to effectively engage, deliver and generate impactful data to support medication access decision‑making. The position is field‑based and covers territories in the West region: CA, OR, WA, MT, , NV, AZ, UT, WY, CO, NM.

Responsibilities
  • Service large integrated delivery networks, institutions, community oncology customers and key payer accounts.
  • Lead clinical engagement with key access customers and conduct health economics and outcomes research as part of a cross‑functional Cell Therapy matrix team.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of the U.S. HEOR strategy, plans, and research.
  • Serve as the SME for access matrix colleagues.
  • Link science/data to business needs of customers and provide compliant solutions.
  • Work closely with the home office HEOR/medical teams to develop, interpret, and disseminate data assessing the medical value of BMS assets; execute all phases of the research process.
  • Inform research strategy to ensure BMS answers key questions driven by direct payer insights, in collaboration with the home office medical matrix team.
  • Lead HEOR for any given therapeutic area.
  • Focus field‑facing activities on specific accounts, including regional managed care accounts and key integrated delivery networks, to facilitate patient access, medical policy, coverage, and reimbursement for BMS portfolio assets.
  • Develop sustainable customer relationships and discuss comprehensive scientific, health economic, epidemiology, and quality of life information.
  • Partner with Cell Therapy Account Managers, Heme/Onc National Account Executives, and home office matrix teams.
Qualifications
  • Advanced graduate degree required:
    PhD, Pharm

    D, MS, or MPH with an emphasis in health services research, health economics, public health, health services, or a related field.
  • A master’s level degree will be considered if it is specific to health economics or outcomes research, with appropriate clinical background.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in the pharmaceutical, managed care, or consulting industries with a primary focus on Market Access and health economics & outcomes research at all stages of the research process.
  • Experience in Cell Therapy preferred;
    Oncology/Hematology a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in HEOR and a publication list.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and recommend concerning the evolving U.S. healthcare marketplace and comparative effectiveness research.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and translate insights into scientific opportunities for research and BMS strategy.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication skills, high business acumen, leadership, customer focus, and ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to travel as required; must have a clean driving record and be able to use a company‑provided vehicle.
Compensation Overview

Field – United States – US: $211,880 – $256,748. The starting compensation range listed above is for a full‑time employee. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility.
