Overview

Job Title: Director, Assertive Community Treatment

CASES is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Director of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) to provide clinical and administrative leadership across its ACT Department. ACT is an evidence-based practice serving adults (18+) diagnosed with serious mental illness, many of whom have co-occurring substance use disorders and histories of involvement with the criminal legal system. Through a mobile, multidisciplinary team approach, ACT delivers integrated treatment, rehabilitation, case management, and support services designed to promote recovery, housing stability, employment, and improved quality of life.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of ACT, the Director of ACT will oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational functioning of multiple ACT teams, including ACT, Forensic ACT (FACT), ACT Alternative-to-Incarceration (ATI), and Young Adult ACT. The Director will provide technical assistance, clinical guidance, and leadership support to Team Leaders; monitor program budgets; ensure fidelity to the ACT model; and foster staff cohesion and workplace satisfaction.

In collaboration with the Senior Director, the Director of ACT will support effective program operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care to individuals served across the department.

This position is full-time Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Salary: The salary for this role is $108,000 per year.

Location Address: 151 Lawrence Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible - allows for remote work 1 day per week.

Responsibilities
  • Along with Senior Director of ACT, oversees the clinical and administrative operations of ACT Department;
  • Ensures the ACT Department delivers culturally and developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented services and effectively applies motivational interviewing;
  • Collaborates with Senior Director of ACT to provide clinical support, training and professional development opportunities for Team Leaders;
  • Ensures ACT teams meet their performance outcomes and operational standards as defined by New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) licensing standards, New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) contracting standards, and CASES ACT Policies & Procedures;
  • Oversees the ACT Department’s incident reporting and management procedures according to OMH standards and CASES ACT Policies & Procedures;
  • Collaborates with Senior Director of ACT and Quality to conduct program reviews and performance improvement initiatives to ensure that the ACT Department operates in compliance with New York State OMH guidelines and regulations, New York City DOHMH operating standards, as well as HIPAA confidentiality regulations;
  • Facilitates weekly clinical supervision group for ACT staff members seeking licensure hours;
  • Participates in regular budget and fiscal meetings, as well as meetings with other branches of CASES, to review departmental performances and growth opportunities;
  • Collaborates with Senior Director of ACT in managing special ACT initiatives;
  • Maintains up to date knowledge in the fields of behavioral health treatment, criminal-legal issues, and state Medicaid initiatives;
  • Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required by Senior Director and executive staff.
What We Are Looking For
  • Active New York License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD or PhD);
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in program operations, preferably with multidisciplinary teams;
  • At least four years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and criminal-legal system involvement;
  • Experience overseeing multiple programs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Fluency in the OMH regulations and standards for ACT;
