Procedure Authorization Specialist- Remote

• Monitor authorizations for upcoming surgical cases to ensure timely and accurate processing
• Verify patient demographic information and insurance eligibility, including coordination of benefits
• Complete surgical cost analysis forms and document required cost estimations
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and co-workers to establish strong working relationships
• Assist in identifying workflow improvement opportunities within the department

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the healthcare field
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• Strong organizational skills and a customer service orientation
• Knowledge of eligibility verification, prior authorizations, and HIPAA regulations
• Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

• Previous experience in referrals/authorizations, front office, or charge posting
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to analyze data and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with various HMO, PPO, and commercial payer processes
