Patient Services Representative - TGH Imaging Sun City Center - (2600009X)

This position is to greet, check-in and register patients who have arrived at our imaging facility to have their radiologic procedure or test.

• In a polite, prompt and helpful manner, greet, check‑in and register patients who arrive to our facility for their scheduled appointment or walk‑in patients.
• Verifies that the patient has brought all of the required information for their exam:
  • Prescription for the procedure(s) (look in system for a copy if they didn’t bring it)
  • Authorization or referral if the procedure requires it
  • Collect outside images that will be used for comparison
  • Insurance card & driver’s license for
• Ask and verify that the patient completed any required prep for their exam.
• Contact referring physician’s office if patient arrives without prescription or referral.
• Scan the required documents into the system on their account for retrieval.
• Update all of the patient’s information that is already on their account for returning patients.
• Provide necessary forms, obtain signatures as required.
• Collect time of service money (co‑pays, deductibles and private pay), prepare receipt, and record in system under visit tab.
• Assist in a team environment and help other team members when needed.
• Other duties may be required, such as answering the phone, escorting patient to exam room, scheduling or rescheduling patient’s exams.

• Minimum of one‑year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Must have computer and phone experience.
• High school graduate or GED preferred.

• Proficient in computer software and excellent typing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous working experience in customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and company policies including safety, privacy and HIPAA.
• Problem‑solving techniques and skills.
• Can communicate clearly to establish cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and team members, and create a pleasant waiting room atmosphere.
• Previous office or call center experience preferred.
• Knowledge of some medical terminology and radiology procedures preferred.
