We are recruiting for 1 full time permanent Lead Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
- Supervisor to join the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service.
Welcome! The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service is a busy caring team consisting of Administration staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners, and Counsellors. We deliver Talking Therapies to the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin which has exciting, diverse and growing modern towns, surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside.
Our NHS Talking Therapies team is a great place to work. We have recently redefined our service offer, including a new leadership structure, and we need your help with the continued development of the new ways of working.
Working as part of the leadership team, you will provide individual case management supervision and clinical skills groups to the senior PWPs.
You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure robust and quality supervision is provided at step 2.
Main duties of the job- To be an integral part of the management team ensuring the successful and effective day-to-day delivery of the Step 2 component of Shropshire NHS Talking Therapies Service, with responsibility for delivering high-quality Step 2 interventions to patients with common mental health problems.
- Supporting the Clinical Lead, Strategic Operational Lead, Highly Specialised Lead PWP and Service Operational Lead to adhere to the Step 2 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identifying risks to meeting KPIs as appropriate.
- To support the supervision plan across the Step 2 team and have responsibility for ensuring compliance with NICE standards.
- To manage a small caseload, providing low intensity psychological interventions to adults with common mental health problems, utilising a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions.

Job responsibilitiesYou will support the Highly Specialised Lead PWP to deliver the smooth running of the Step 2 intervention, ensuring timely access to assessment, treatment or onward referral, including face-to-face and remote working via telephone and digital platforms.
In conjunction with the Clinical Lead, Highly Specialised Lead PWP and other colleagues in other STW NHS Talking Therapies Service, you will ensure the implementation of a local CPD programme for Step 2 practitioners to ensure service-wide development of the Step 2 workforce.
You will ensure Step 2 clinicians within the service maintain appropriate knowledge of legislation, national guidance and local policies and procedures, in relation to mental health, primary and secondary care services. To be responsible for the Step 2 clinical teams compliance with CQC standards.
You will lead on specific areas of service improvement and development as agreed with the Highly Specialised Lead PWP.

Person Specification Qualifications- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in health and psychological therapies
- Appropriate adult qualification in low intensity psychological interventions recognised by NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression (NHSTT) (formally known as IAPT) training programme, accredited by the British Psychological Society-
- PWP registration from a recognised Psychological Therapy body e.g. BABCP, BACP, UKCP.
