You will be responsible for providing strong leadership and supervision of a growing Sleep Medicine practice. You will oversee the daily operations of a two-location medical practice specializing in the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders. This role is responsible for ensuring the practice runs efficiently, is compliant with healthcare regulations, and provides exceptional patient care. You will manage both clinical and administrative staff, oversee financial operations, continuously monitor and direct processes, train and develop staff, and work with stakeholders to drive positive change, and implement strategies to enhance the practice’s profitability and growth.

The physician owner will support and work with you in all aspects of the practice.

Established in 2008, our company is a leader in the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders in the greater Austin area. The care model is comprehensive from initial consultation, testing and all ongoing care for the best possible patient outcomes. The latest technology is utilized for diagnosis of various sleep disorders with a focus on adapting to continue to meet the needs of our patients.

Care is provided by a physician owner and four nurse practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of both practice locations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper scheduling and patient flow.
    • Ensure that both locations are fully staffed, including hiring, training, and managing administrative and support staff.
    • Manage the maintenance and procurement of office equipment and medical supplies.
    • Oversee the DME (CPAP) staff and business.
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage the practice’s budget, including forecasting and financial reporting.
    • Oversee billing and coding processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
    • Monitor accounts receivable and payable, working to maximize collections and reduce outstanding balances.
    • Conduct regular financial reviews and present findings to the practice owners.
    • Identify and implement strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant laws.
    • Develop and implement policies to maintain the privacy and security of patient information.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with clinical and administrative standards.
    • Manage risk by implementing safety protocols and ensuring staff are trained on emergency procedures.
  • Patient Experience
    • Ensure a high standard of patient care and satisfaction across both locations.
    • Address and resolve patient complaints and concerns promptly.
    • Oversee the management of patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal requirements.
    • Implement patient feedback systems to continually improve the patient experience.
  • Staff Management and Development
    • Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and support staff, including oversight of the sleep lab and staff.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure clear communication and address any issues.
    • Implement staff development and continuing education programs to maintain high standards of care.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment policies, and healthcare regulations.
    • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
    • Develop and implement staffing plans that ensure adequate coverage at both locations.
  • Strategic Planning and Growth
    • Work with the practice owner to develop and implement long-term strategic goals.
    • Identify opportunities for growth, including new services, partnerships, and expansion.
    • Monitor industry trends and developments in sleep medicine to keep the practice competitive.
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new patients and retain existing ones.
