Safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act Named Professional

The closing date is 10 February 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced professional with an established interest in safeguarding to join our team, providing specialist safeguarding and mental capacity advice across our addictions, sexual health and health and justice services. These services are based in several London Boroughs, Surrey and Milton Keynes, with the office base being in the Gordon Hospital in London.

There is scope for a degree of remote working.

The post is within the Diggory division of the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out some face-to-face duties with clinical services, but there is no patient caseload. The post covers both child and adult safeguarding, so some experience in either or both will be beneficial.

We are seeking a dynamic and engaged professional with excellent communication and leadership skills to deliver our safeguarding agenda across the services covered. The post holder should have knowledge of safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act processes and practices and must be able to represent the Division at all levels with regard to safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act practice and policy.

Safeguarding is everyones responsibility.

All members of CNWL staff who have contact with service users, or their families, should be familiar with guidance on Safeguarding Children and Adults from their own Professional Body, the Trust and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Procedures. Staff are also required to attend mandatory training on safeguarding.

As an NHS Trust, we strongly encourage and support vaccination, as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues, and, of course, patients and service users when working in our healthcare settings.
