Supervising BCBA will manage a caseload of 7–10 learners, provide ABA assessment and individualized treatment planning, supervise RBTs and trainees, and serve as primary family contact while ensuring documentation, billing, and quality standards. The role requires a Master's degree, active BCBA certification and Maryland LBA licensure, 3+ years working with ASD/I/DD, and completion of supervision training. Responsibilities include meeting billable-hour targets, delivering caregiver and staff training, conducting regular data reviews, and overseeing administrative tasks.

Position Summary
Supervising BCBAs are full-time (40 hours per week), salaried employees. BCBAs report directly to the Clinical Director and/or VP of Clinical Operations, where applicable. The Supervising BCBA is responsible for the management of a reasonable caseload (7-10 clients depending on treatment intensity) of learners, families, and Behavior Technicians. The Supervising BCBA serves as the primary point of contact for families, RBTs, and other providers as it relates to learners on their caseload.
Supervising BCBAs are responsible for upholding A Gem of Joy ABA Quality Standards, as well as implementing best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis, for all programs that they are responsible for overseeing. Working hours for Supervising BCBAs are generally Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm (when in-home services are offered); however, at times, the supervising BCBA may be requested or required to work outside of those hours.
Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree or higher in education, psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or similar field.
Certification
Current, active certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA® or BCBA-D®)
Current, active license to practice ABA in the state of Maryland (Maryland LBA).
Completion of 8 hour supervision training (eligibility to serve as RBT Supervisor® or RBT Requirements Coordinator®).
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years working with individuals with ASD or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Experience completing behavior analytic assessments for both skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
Experience utilizing assessment results to create individualized treatment plans to effectively reduce challenging behavior and/or teach new skills.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of CPT® codes relevant to the provision of applied behavior analysis services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge and experience implementing various assessment tools for evaluating challenging behavior and current adaptive functioning levels.
Supervisory skills, including training and oversight of behavior technicians.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Proficiency using (or prior exposure to) Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, One Drive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
Job Duties
Serve as the primary point of contact between learners/families on your caseload and A Gem of Joy ABA, excluding situations that require escalation to the CD.
Maintain a minimum of 115 billable hours per month across all billing codes (97151, 97155, 97156, H2012, and 97153 if necessary).
Salary may be adjusted if a lower billable requirement is desired.
Complete initial and ongoing assessments of learner skills and challenging behaviors.
Complete initial and ongoing assessments of parent/caregiver skills and proficiency implementing ABA strategies with their child.
Use assessment results and family priorities to create individualized, medically necessary ABA treatment plans for each learner on your caseload.
Frequently review data and progress (minimally weekly), making updates to the learner’s treatment plan as needed to ensure continued progress.
