Job Details

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Williamston, North Carolina. You will have the opportunity to impact patient lives while receiving competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech Language Pathology experience; new grads are welcome to apply
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders across ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Essential Work Functions
  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observations to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across diverse patient populations
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices
  • Continuously assess progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as required
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and professional development to stay current with best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions; proficient in PC skills
  • Physical: ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal: ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel
  • Technical/Motor: ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about during procedures
  • Mental: ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle irregular schedules while maintaining attention to detail
  • Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication abilities
