Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist for a 12-week travel assignment in Belton, Missouri. Required Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech Language Pathology experience;
    New Grads are welcome to apply
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to facilitate improved communication outcomes and overall quality of life.

Essential Work Functions
  • Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population using standardized assessments and clinical observation
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices
  • Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices; provide supportive counseling as required
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards; address patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development to stay current with best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical abilities: remain stationary as needed, move, lift 50–100 lbs, push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism
  • Technical/motor skills: grasp, fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and equipment
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines, work under supervision or independently as needed, handle irregular schedules, maintain attention to detail
  • Sensory: visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
