You will join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. The service specialises in evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments for autism and ADHD, delivered through both NHS-funded and private pathways.
As a permanent Clinical Psychologist, you will contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, supporting timely and accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate interventions and improved outcomes for families. Part-time opportunities may be available upon request.
Key Responsibilities Conducting face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via video consultation Participating in collaborative multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions, with senior clinical support where required Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families Producing accurate, high-quality clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, supported by digital tools Managing workload effectively to meet service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Providing clinical supervision (where applicable) Contributing to additional responsibilities aligned with experience and service needs, including:
Clinical consultation Quality assurance of assessment reports Service development projects Ability to travel to a clinic base for in-person assessments (hybrid working model) Ways of Working Digital workflows and smart reporting systems designed to reduce administrative time Bespoke electronic health record system developed using market-leading research Continuous improvement of internal systems informed by clinician feedback Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training in systems and technology Dedicated in-house IT and operational support Essential Qualifications and Experience HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist Minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people Strong understanding of differential diagnosis within neurodevelopmental presentations In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for autism and ADHD Training and experience using recognised diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R) Excellent time management and caseload organisation skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Highly developed written skills for producing clear, high-quality clinical reports Strong communication skills with children, young people, and their families Eligibility to work in the UK
