We are looking to recruit Porters at Cambridge University Hospitals!
Working require under the supervision of the Controller, Porters will assist the Shift Facilities Manager in providing an efficient portering/courier service in accordance with the following list of duties.
A Rotary Porter will be rostered for 4 on 4 off days and night shifts 7-7. Day Porters will working shifts Monday-Friday 11-7.
This role includes:
- Moving patients between departments
- Moving/changing medical gas cylinders
- Collection and delivery of specimens
- Delivery of Electro Biomedical Equipment to wards.
- Movement of beds, bedding, clinical furniture and other equipment.
- Deliver crash trolley to resuscitation incidents
- Delivery of sterile supplies, food orders and linen out of normal hours
- Collection of sensitive waste items and deliver to the incinerator
- Movement of equipment and furniture
- To ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard, and in accordance with current quality initiatives within the area of work.
- To respond to fire alarms as part of the fire response team, and meet and direct the fire brigade to the source of the alarm.
- To respond to crash (resuscitation) calls. To collect and deliver crash trolleys and equipment to the resuscitation team, and assist them in moving the patient.
- Assist the medical staff with the admission and discharge of patients.
- Collection from wards and moving of deceased patients to the mortuary observing privacy and dignity requirements.

- Applied for a Graduate visa
- Or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
- Or the Trust has agreed that they will Sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment
