Overview
Their Place is looking for part-time Physical Therapists to join our Children’s Services team. We are committed to providing services to children of all ages who are experiencing challenges with learning, social skills, sensory processing, speech/language skills and/or motor development.
Reports toChildren’s Services Coordinator
Responsibilities- Perform full physical therapy evaluation (collect learner history, use standardized functional tests and outcome measures, determine PT diagnosis/prognosis, construct learner-centered plans of care).
- Ability to create home exercise programs along with learner education.
- Follow Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and develop methodologies for reaching each child’s specific developmental goals.
- Coach family members and caregivers on various intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over in both home and community settings.
- Provide therapy services to improve gross motor development, address large motor concerns, and increase strength and muscle development.
- Provide therapy to assist with achievement of gross motor milestones at appropriate levels of development and ability.
- Ensure that progress is documented, and caregivers are active participants in intervention through addressing specific goals, coaching sessions, and communication with the entire team.
- Prepare progress reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations).
- New Jersey Physical Therapy (PT) license.
- Early Intervention Experience OR Equivalent Experience.
- Pediatric Experience.
- Home Based Service Delivery Experience (preferred).
- Strong Clinical & Interpersonal Skills.
- Excellent Written & Oral Communication Skills.
- Must have at least one year of experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to travel – services are provided in the client home.
- Valid CPR License.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass background check, drug screen and all pre-employment requirements.
Hours based on client needs. Pay rate: $50 to $55 per hour. Expected hours: 20 per week.
Work Location:
In person.
- Physical Therapy License (Preferred).
- CPR Certification (Preferred).
- East Brunswick, NJ 08816 (Required).
