Job Description
Surgical Services Coordinator - USFTGP Surgery (250004M8)
Coordinate the clinical encounters of patients, including clinical appointments, authorizations and surgery scheduling. Will serve as primary administrative contact for patients, facilitating patient needs with care team. Ensures optimized clinic schedule for providers, including template management, guidelines and working with Medical Assistants to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately. Works closely with Revenue Cycle Operations to facilitate both authorizations and co-pay/co-insurance notification and collection.
QualificationsRequired:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a clinical setting
- Background in medical field, e.g. MA, etc.
- Coordinates all surgical services activities, including referral coordination, working closely with Revenue Cycle Operations to facilitate both authorizations and co-pay/co-insurance notification and collection, scheduling and rescheduling (canceling of a clinic day or Surgery/Procedural day), up through time of surgery completion to ensure there are no gaps that will impact surgical timing.
- Complete any orders needed for surgeries and/or procedures and track the orders (labs, testing, etc.) and schedules through completion.
- Track and maintain the providers’ schedule in respect to the surgery’s and/or procedures and assign allocated operating room blocks to maximize the number of surgeries.
- Maintains overall patient experience and safety, following all emergency clinical policies and protocols, to allow for optimal experience of care.
