Farnham Road Hospital provides high-quality inpatient mental health care across three adult wards and a Health-Based Place of Safety, serving our local community with compassion and expertise.

Main Duties- Support patients with personal care, ensuring dignity, privacy, and respect at all times
- Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration
- Promote independence where possible while providing appropriate support
- Carry out and accurately record regular physical and mental health observations, including mood, behaviour, and vital signs
- Promptly report any changes or concerns to the nursing or medical team
- Encourage patient participation in therapeutic, social, and recreational activities
- Contribute to a positive, recovery-focused ward environment
- Build and maintain professional, therapeutic relationships with patients
- Engage in meaningful conversations to provide emotional reassurance and support
- Support the safety and security of the ward in line with observation levels and trust policies
- Assist in managing patient distress or crisis situations, including the use of de‑escalation techniques
- Accurately document care provided, observations, and incidents using electronic record systems
- Ensure all documentation complies with trust policies, confidentiality, and information governance standards
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists
