Full time is desirable but 4 days per week could be considered

The Clinical Lead oversees all children & young people supported by the service and their fostering families, providing clinical input to some and supervision to clinicians in others having a key role in supporting the growth and development of our Multi Assessment Treatment & Therapy Service (MATTS) including how the service is integrated with the fostering element.

The MATTS team is truly multi-disciplinary and will comprise of Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, Consultant Systemic Psychotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, Education Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Forensic Therapists, Art Therapists, NVR Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Environmental Therapists.

The current MATTS team take huge satisfaction from being able to provide a service that is able to adapt and respond to the changing situations for children and young people. The service is offered without waiting lists and is well funded- and we promote long term therapy intervention when needed for children and young people, we pride ourselves on being able to work across our large MDT and seek advice from different professionals when needed.

The MATTS team meet every quarter and it is an enriching experience to work with and learn from such an experienced and skilled team of professionals.

The MATTS team is situated within the organisation alongside the Fostering Social Work team which means that there are plentiful opportunities for joint working.

The team provide clinical support to foster carers by weekly telephone calls and/or face to face sessions, then undertake a Comprehensive Assessment of Need’ to inform the Therapeutic Treatment Plan and provide direct work with a child or young person depending on the recommendations from the assessment. They participate in Clinical Review meetings and provide written reports to the network.

Responsibilities

  • To coordinate and oversee the Clinical support provided to our fostering families and the children accessing MATTS.
  • Participate in meetings with the network and the MDT.
  • Provide written reports/ consultation to the network
  • Undertake Comprehensive Assessment of Need to inform the Therapeutic Treatment Plan (where appropriate)
  • Provide regular group supervision to the team of clinicians
  • To have regular MATTS discussions with the Clinicians and SSW around particular young people.
  • Facilitate integration of MATTS within the region- including attending and facilitating meetings- modelling therapeutic principles.
  • Facilitating workshops around clinical topics to promote collaboration
  • To evidence clinical oversight on the CHARMS system

Qualifications and Skills

  • A relevant qualification relevant to your role and professional registration (psychotherapist, clinical psychologist)
  • Experience of working with foster carers and or children/young people in care
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
