Position: EVS Lead-DAYS-ROTATING WEEKENDS

Overview

Ochsner Health is committed to serving, healing, leading, educating, and innovating. This role leads Environmental Services Aides in housekeeping across hospital interiors and related properties, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring 24/7 seamless service as a working supervisor. The position monitors staff to maintain safe, clean, aseptic, and operationally effective conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead Environmental Services Aides to maintain assigned areas in a clean and aseptic manner.
  • Assign personnel, equipment, and supplies to maximize resource utilization while upholding high standards of cleanliness and teamwork.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and conduct employee training and development with management to meet performance standards and customer service criteria.
  • Respond promptly to defects, deficiencies, and customer complaints and follow through with service recovery and follow-up.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and staffing to meet unit needs.
  • Adapt interactions with patients to respect privacy and communicate effectively about services or procedures.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Required - None. Preferred - High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Work Experience:

    Required - 1 Year housekeeping experience. Preferred - Health care or hotel experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval; proficient with Windows-style applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Basic knowledge of floor care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing problems in areas of responsibility.
  • Self-directed and able to work with little supervision.
  • Capable of operating Environmental Services equipment such as automatic scrubber and burnisher.
Job Duties
