Medical Assistant - Triage

Overview

Two full-time openings | Fully remote (Applicants must reside in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area for training/as needed in-person meetings) | 40 hours per week

The Triage Medical Assistant, under the general supervision of the Triage Nurse Manager, as part of the Acute Care Team (ACT). The Triage Medical Assistant is responsible for abiding by the policies and procedures of the One World Community Health Centers while performing the clinical and clerical duties necessary to meet the goal of providing primary healthcare. They work primarily from home, but report to work in the clinic on a rotating basis.

Work involves medication refill requests, prior authorization processing, and telephonic patient assistance.

• High school diploma or equivalent required, OR must be actively pursuing a high school diploma/GED.
• Medical Assistant diploma required; current AAMA certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
• Certified Medication Aide required within the first three months of employment.
• Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
• Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to One World patients and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Flexibility with changing work schedules is required.
• Position includes remote work from home, which requires a home computer, phone, and high-speed internet access.
