  • Qualification – Hold or willing to undertake Level 3 Trusted Assessor accreditation
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance – this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here.

The role involves travelling city wide to carry out visits to vulnerable and disabled citizens in their own homes and to complete holistic functional assessments, identifying and prescribing equipment and minor adaptations to support the citizen and their carers with activities of daily living.

The role further involves ordering and fitting of equipment to promote independence and improve the quality of life of our disabled citizens. The candidate will be required to undertake Trusted Assessor Level 3 training and signpost to appropriate services where identified.

The candidate will require a full clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle in order to carry out their visits. They will be required to work flexibly and at times outside of core hours to meet the demands of the service.

About The Candidate

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a real passion for supporting our vulnerable and disabled citizens of Manchester and want to make a difference. They need to be passionate about our city and live the Manchester values.

They need to be able to manage their time effectively and be able to cope with the demands of the service and have the skills to prioritise and manage a busy caseload.

Team work is essential and the applicant must be able to work effectively both as part of a team but be able to work effectively on their own. They need to have excellent communication skills and be able to gather information from a number of different sources.

They need to be confident and have excellent problem solving skills. They need to be able to prioritise their workload effectively and have excellent IT and written skills.
