The Global Technical Consultant (GTC) is a senior role within the Life Sciences division, essential to providing global technical service and accelerating the sales cycle through expert technical services.

The Global Technical Consultant (GTC), Strategic team role is a senior position with responsibility for the global technical service provision for Life Sciences aligned to Life Sciences Division goals. The GTC member enhances the Life Sciences total solutions offer and accelerates the sales cycle through provision, support and enhancement of our expert technical services.

The GTC strategic work requires high internal cross-functional collaboration to provide GTC resources that support business goals to grow, gain, and retain business. The GTC strategic team member collaborates with leadership in sales (including Corporate Accounts), finance, marketing, RD&E and other areas as required to maximize the customer value proposition. Externally, this role liaises and partners with industry groups and bodies, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and global corporate pharmaceutical accounts.

The GTC also supports thought leadership by providing industry insights, identifying regulatory trends, and creating technical materials and content as needed.

• Liaise and partner with industry bodies, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and global corporate pharmaceutical accounts.
• Provide internal and external consultancy, leveraging customer relationships and KOL relationships, and contribute to and leverage professional memberships.
• Gather information from industry bodies, KOLs and customer contacts on how industry uses products and services.
• Maintain presence at industry groups, standards organisations, regulatory forums to help steer guidance standards and regulations affecting Life Sciences.
• Feed information back to marketing, GTC, RD&E and sales to refine marketing strategy, develop materials, enhance technical services, support GTC strategy, and identify opportunities for product or service development.
• Investigate new market areas to identify market size/value and how Ecolab could develop products, tools, and services for these segments and customers.
• Support marketing campaign execution.
• Create content to engage customers and generate leads (articles, technical statements, guidance documents, webinars/seminars, and visual or social media content).
• Maintain and develop strategic technical partnerships.
• Review new and upcoming regulatory intelligence and provide feedback to appropriate teams.
• Provide subject matter expert input (VOC and VOB) into strategic innovation projects.
• Lead strategic projects where appropriate.
• Provide customer technical support in support of the regional GTC team.

This is a remote position. While the ideal candidate would be based in Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, or North Carolina, we are open to candidates located anywhere in the U.S., provided they reside near a major airport to accommodate travel requirements.

• Bachelor of Science (BSc or equivalent) degree in Life Sciences, preferably Microbiology
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Quality or Microbiology within Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
• Experience in understanding/troubleshooting cleanroom operations
• Willing and able to travel globally up to 50% of the time
• Clean driver's license and ability to obtain travel visas without restrictions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and critical thinking skills

• Master’s degree (MSc or equivalent) in Life Sciences, preferably Microbiology/Chemistry/Biotechnology
• Demonstrated proficiency with internal or external auditing
• Knowledge/experience of change control processes
• Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects with strong follow-through
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines
• Good knowledge of EN/AOAC disinfectant efficacy standard test methods and mode of action of disinfectants
• Experience in GMP production sites
• Experience with validation or introduction of HPV (through material transfer/isolators/excursion responses)
• Experience with projects around isolator qualification
• Knowledge of or experience with cleaning/sanitisation validation of product contact equipment for Pharma and/or Personal Care
• Understanding regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., EMA, MHRA, FDA, HPRA, TGA)
• Fluent in a second language
• Active member of industry associations (e.g., PDA, ISPE)
