Position: Direct Support Professional I - ABA

Overview

Up to $1000 New Hire Sign-on Bonus

Rate of pay: $ 24.00 per hour

The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program provides weekly, intensive home-based services to children aged 3 to 12 who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and have significant developmental delays or behavioral concerns.

Home-Based ABA team members deliver specialized, intensive direct support services to children living lab orating with a licensed healthcare professional and family members, services are provided in the home and community, focusing on developing social skills, communication, and positive behaviors in age-appropriate settings.

Seven Hills Rhode Island, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation offers opportunities for individuals with extensive experience in direct support, as well as for college students, paraprofessionals, teachers, and anyone seeking part-time employment, including stay-at-home parents.

This is an excellent part-time opportunity for CNAs, DSPs, childcare workers, daycare teachers, and residential counselors.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children aged 3 to 12, tailoring sessions to meet individualized needs.
  • Provide role modeling and training for parents and families to enhance their ability to support the child's progress.
  • Foster a person-centered approach, promoting individualized service delivery that aligns with the identified goals of the child and family.
  • Support the child with developing self-help and self-care skills, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Teach essential social and safety skills, adapting to the unique requirements of each child.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clinicians and coordinators, providing detailed data reporting and updates on the child's progress and program implementation.
  • Adjust therapeutic strategies based on feedback, progress, and evolving needs of the child.
  • Collaborate with the child's care team to ensure a cohesive and effective service plan.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with children and families.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 19 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate/Bachelor’s in a related field may substitute for experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children or adults in healthcare, education, or recreation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to individual needs.
