Overview
USPIRESURGENS EAST SURGERY CENTER is seeking a motivated MATERIALS MANAGER to join our team. Resurgens East Surgery Center is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibility for the materials management process for the healthcare facility, including evaluation, procurement, storage, and distribution of all supplies and equipment. The materials manager will perform daily operations to support medical and surgical inventory control, including ordering of all medical supplies, maintaining an appropriate inventory, receiving and stocking supplies in the assigned area. The materials manager is responsible for identifying, implementing, and documenting cost savings and supply chain operational improvement opportunities for the facility.
Qualifications- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Two years minimum receiving and inventory experience in a health care environment preferred
- Strong customer service background
- Strong math and counting skills required
- Type minimum of 40 wpm preferred
- Computer experience required (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel preferred)
- Able to deal tactfully with public and other staff members
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to deal with repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, squat and lift heavy items above head and shoulders
- Ability to work in a clean and sterile environment
- Knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to sort and organize information for analyzing purchasing information to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies
- Ability to document and report cost savings and impact analysis for conversions and contract implementations
- Ability to maintain neat and organized purchasing, receiving, and inventory records and implant logs
- Ability to comply with OSHA regulations, AAAHC, and CDC standards, or other applicable rules and regulations governing the healthcare workplace
- Ability to critically think and determine appropriate course of action in dynamic and complex situations
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and prioritize work duties
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, vendors, co-workers, and others in a professional manner
