Therapy (EDT) is seeking to appoint a remote-working Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to support online triage/assessment. Work from home, or anywhere in the UK, with an opportunity to join EDT, an innovative and forward-looking completely remote IAPT service within the NHS, which places emphasis on staff wellbeing and development.
This post would be an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience of working in an IAPT environment and in gaining more experience of working in a mental health setting.
This is a chance to work flexibly, within the service hours of 8am - 8pm Mon-Thurs, and 9am-5pm Friday, to deliver online and telephone triages and working completely remotely in support of the work of the three community IAPT services in the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT), which has been rated “Outstanding” by Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance and a positive working environment.

Responsibilities- Support service users in accessing ELFT IAPT talking therapies services.
- Work completely remotely, completing automated online triage assessments as well as over the telephone.
- Deliver online and telephone triage assessments; provide remote support for the work of the three community IAPT services in ELFT.
- Provide online video groups and 1-2-1 meetings to encourage interaction within a highly supportive team.
- Contribute to a monthly service online meeting to receive updates on issues concerning all.
- Use informatics systems such as IAPTUS and Microsoft Teams to deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions.
- Experience and enthusiasm as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
- Awareness of common mental health presentations and understanding of the stepped care model within IAPT primary care talking therapies.
- Good computer literacy, excellent time management, and a friendly telephone manner.
- Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
- Experience in an IAPT environment is desirable.
EDT also delivers a range of psycho-educational and low-intensity therapeutic interventions remotely via video, telephone, and typed text-based sessions, following NICE guidance, ensuring high-quality care and supporting therapist development through supervision, line-management and bespoke CPD. The post-holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary. This vacancy is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis, with the expectation that all clinical staff offer one late online evening clinic per week (12pm until 8pm).
