Southwoods Health is seeking an experienced Medical Coding Specialist for a per diem, fully remote opportunity within our Southwoods Health at Home division. This flexible role is ideal for skilled home health coders looking to supplement their current employment or work on a flexible basis while supporting a premier healthcare system known for its "patient-first" mission.

Founded in 1996 as an outpatient surgery center in Boardman, Ohio, Southwoods Health has grown into a comprehensive network of over 300 providers across 40+ locations in the Mahoning Valley. Southwoods Health at Home, established in 2022, extends this award-winning care directly to patients’ homes, providing skilled nursing, therapy, and personal care services.

• Role Type:
  Per Diem (Flexible hours).
• Location:
  
  100% Remote.
• Focus:
  Specialized coding for home health clinical encounters.

• Experience:
  
  Prior medical coding experience specifically in a Home Health setting is required.
• Certification:
  Must hold a current coding certification from a recognized body (AAPC or AHIMA), such as:
  CCS, CCA, CPC, RHIT, COC, ACA, or CIC.

• Accurately assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes for home health clinical encounters to ensure compliant billing.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency in a remote work environment.
• Ensure all coding practices align with current facility and regulatory policies.
