An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Major Trauma Service at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Major Trauma Rehabilitation Coordinator (Physiotherapist) to support patients with complex trauma needs throughout their entire care journey—from admission through rehabilitation and onward recovery.

Main duties of the job

This is a key role within the Cambridge Major Trauma Centre, offering the chance to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. You will manage a complex caseload and deliver expert physiotherapy interventions, applying advanced clinical judgement and initiative to guide rehabilitation decisions.

The complexity of care within our regional Major Trauma Centre provides a stimulating setting with scope for innovation and service development. We are looking for someone with the knowledge and drive to help shape and enhance trauma rehabilitation pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate rehabilitation across the major trauma pathway.
  • Deliver specialist physiotherapy care tailored to individual trauma needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and contribute to effective care planning.
  • Collaborate with trauma specialties to ensure seamless rehabilitation support.
  • Proven experience working with neurosurgical patient groups.
  • Apply specialist knowledge to complex trauma rehabilitation scenarios.

  • Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Applicants on a Student visa must have applied for a Graduate visa, completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or be sponsored as a Skilled Worker with completion of studies within 3 months of start date.
