FMI – The Food Industry Association: We’re Hiring a Health and Well-being Director

Quick SnapshotIn this role, you’ll coordinate and lead FMI’s Nutrition, Health & Well‑being initiatives, serving as a subject‑matter expert for our members. You’ll design impactful programs, manage projects, and collaborate across departments to influence policy, research, and education that shape the future of food and health.
What You’ll Do in This Role- Plan, execute, and support FMI’s Nutrition, Health & Well‑being programs for members.
- Develop resources and content such as emails, blog posts, member updates, etc., to help members implement health and well‑being strategies.
- Serve as spokesperson and technical expert on nutrition and health topics at industry events.
- Direct activities of the FMI Health & Well‑being Council and foster member engagement.
- Collaborate on research reports and policy initiatives with internal teams such as Research & Insights, Government Relations, FMI Foundation, etc, as a subject matter expert on nutrition, health and well‑being.
- Build relationships with NGOs, government leaders, and industry partners to advance FMI priorities.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the health and well‑being content on FMI’s website.
- Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in food, health and well‑being and nutrition policy and operations. Managerial experience preferred.
- College degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist preferred. Advanced degree related to nutrition and/or dietetics preferred.
- Knowledge of federal food and nutrition policy, including food labeling regulations, nutrition education programs and feeding assistance programs is essential.
- Computer literacy with an understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office 365 products.
- The ability to demonstrate leadership in management of strategic plans and budgets with an ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals with various priorities.
- Self‑directed with the ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills.
- Stellar writing and editing skills.
- Strong customer service and team orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong time‑management, problem‑solving and project planning skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and hold others accountable for deadlines.
