Location: Hove

Sussex Recovery College offers a range of courses covering mental health education, well-being and recovery. Our courses are co-designed and co-delivered by clinical practitioners and peer trainers, who are people with lived experience of mental health challenges.

We currently have available a number of roles to help us deliver our online training offer. As a Peer Digital Host, you would be supporting the team and students to access our online platform, help with maintaining students records and contribute to creating and designing Power Point presentations and course materials.

We are looking for people who are familiar with Recovery College and feel confident using technology; e.g. Zoom, Microsoft 365.

This is a bank role and working hours will vary according to college terms and our online offer, which is increasing.

This role is 'home based' and applicants are required to have own computer and Wi-Fi. Recovery College can provide other equipment needed for the job, i.e. second screen.

Main duties of the job

The main duties and responsibilities of the Peer Digital Host are:

To support the design and delivery of training and resources on technical platforms such as Zoom.

To develop high levels of skill, knowledge and confidence around the use of digital platforms with diverse groups with different technical access and ability.

To complete students records using the college recording systems.

To upload, maintain and download course materials using the college systems.

To review and update courses presentations as requested by trainers.

To work with clinicians and peer trainers in the Recovery College to ensure effective delivery of online courses and workshops.

Job responsibilities

Main Duties

To deliver digital hosting for Recovery College online courses, alongside the peer and clinical trainer staff. This involves the ability:

  • To provide technical support and guidance for Recovery College students and trainers to engage with and access Recovery College online training sessions.
  • To ensure digital platforms are being used safely and to support access and engagement.
  • To support people's safety, wellbeing and confidence in accessing and engaging with the online environment.
  • To work with peer trainers and clinical trainers to monitor chat boxes and web cams, check in with students and support student safety and wellbeing.
  • To support the design and delivery of training and resources on technical platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Go To Meeting, Microsoft Teams. This will also include contributing to lesson plans and creating PowerPoint presentations for training to be delivered on these platforms.
  • To develop high levels of skill, knowledge and confidence around the use of digital platforms with diverse groups with different technical access and ability.
  • To complete students records using the college recording systems.
  • To upload, maintain and download course materials using the college systems.
  • To review and update courses presentations as requested by trainers.
  • To work with clinical and peer trainers in the Recovery College to ensure effective delivery of online courses and workshops.
  • To show care and empathy for students at all times, and maintain standards of professional boundaries and behaviour.
Person Specification Experience
  • Experience using virtual platforms and all Microsoft applications
  • Experience of working/ volunteering/ being involved in mental health/ neurodevelopmental services
  • Experience of using mental health or neurodevelopmental services , or supporting someone who uses these services (lived experience)
  • Experience of developing and/or delivering training sessions and/or presentations
  • Reasonable knowledge of Sussex Partnership Trust and of Recovery Colleges work
  • An understanding and empathy with issues relating to mental health/learning disabilities/neurodivergence
