Clinical Neurophysiology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital are looking for a well‑organised, self‑motivated individual to join their administrative team. This rewarding role involves regular contact with patients, medical professionals and external agencies via telephone, email and face‑to‑face.

Clinical Neurophysiology are a diagnostic team of Healthcare Scientists and doctors who undertake a wide range of physiological investigations that assess brain and nerve function, enabling diagnosis and monitoring of nervous system disorders such as Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease.

You will work alongside the Neurophysiology administrative team situated within Clinic 33 and the main Neurophysiology Department.

This post is a permanent part‑time position consisting of 3 working days per week of 7.5 hours.

Provide a friendly, efficient and high‑quality Reception / administration service, alongside two colleagues, to patients, families and staff of the Clinical Neurophysiology Service.

  • Greeting patients
  • Checking patients in for their appointments
  • Uploading referrals to EPIC
  • Making patient appointments
  • Emailing out urgent reports and letters
  • Sending and receiving e‑mails
  • Filing and dealing with general enquiries

Must be capable of working independently, of exercising personal initiative, and able to organise the clinics and their work schedule efficiently.

Required to have good oversight of the whole clinical neurophysiology service, tracking patients to avoid breaching, prioritising actions that need undertaking urgently and liaising with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best service is provided for patients.

It is important that you are able to remain calm, polite and tactful under pressure.

Must be compassionate and empathetic towards a wide range of patients undergoing various appointment types and investigations.
