Opening ParagraphHertfordshire Community NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6/7 Locum Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role offers the flexibility of remote working while providing specialised speech and language therapy services to adult patients in acute wards. This position is available immediately and offers both full-time and part-time options on an ongoing basis.
As a Band 6/7 Locum Remote Adult Speech and Language Therapist you will provide specialist speech and language therapy services to adult patients in acute wards, focusing on managing dysphagia. Your duties will include: conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions for communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining accurate patient records, participating in clinical audits, and contributing to the development of speech and language therapy services.
You will also provide remote consultations and support to ensure continuity of care.
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience delivering speech and language therapy services to adults, particularly in acute settings.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention for dysphagia and other communication disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with advances in speech and language therapy.
- Experience in remote working and providing virtual consultations (desirable).
