Summary:

Performs all secretarial, clerical and admitting functions to support the Surgery Department including scheduling surgical procedures; answering, directing and prioritizing telephone calls appropriately; effective communication; and clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School education or equivalent.  Candidates with previous scheduling experience strongly preferred.  Knowledge of the Operating Room, medical terminology and surgical procedures strongly preferred.
Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to multi-task.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Computer knowledge of Cerner Surginet scheduling system preferred.
The ability to work afternoon shifts with rotating weekends required.
