About the RoleWe are seeking a detail‑oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our Prior Authorization team. This role focuses on reviewing, processing, and documenting coverage determination requests submitted by providers. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, accuracy in documentation, and a solid understanding of pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities- Track and triage coverage determination requests submitted by providers.
- Assess requests to determine whether pharmacist review is required.
- Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers.
- Approve coverage determination requests based on established criteria.
- Enter and document all decisions in the PBM system and notify providers and/or members.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding authorization approvals and PBM online applications.
- Refer specialty drug coverage requests to delegated vendors or clients for processing.
- Contact providers for additional information to support coverage determination reviews.
- Notify physicians, providers, and members of final coverage determination decisions.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent experience in retail pharmacy or for an HMO pharmacy
- Active state AND national Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB).
- Experience with data entry and documentation in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple requests, and maintain accuracy.
This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
