Position: Insurance/Billing Collections Assistant II (Remote) - Department of Medicine - Business Office

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Perform insurance follow-up billing and collection duties to ensure timely and accurate payment of physician charges
  • Review patient accounts for accuracy, including insurance eligibility and invoice resolution
  • Utilize Epic and payer websites for claim submission, status, and inquiry
  • Meet Quality Assurance (QA) and efficiency standards for working invoices/accounts daily
  • Collaborate with management and staff to address billing issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting or a medical collection setting
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily
  • Familiarity with insurance follow-up and medical billing processes
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience with claims resolution and collections strategies
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Billing, ICD-10 Procedure Coding, and HIPAA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience in handling confidential data and telephone communications
