OverviewUT Southwestern Medical Center offers a new opportunity for a Revenue Integrity Educator III, working under minimal supervision to develop and conduct educational presentations on coding, billing and compliance topics.

Responsibilities- Develop and conduct individual or group presentations on coding, billing and compliance topics based on new regulations and professional coding industry information.
- Research coding, documentation and reimbursement policy questions and prepare timely responses.
- Conduct independent reviews on the adequacy of medical record documentation to support coding decisions and develop recommended solutions/action plans.
- Perform pre‑bill reviews of professional charges for new providers and provide follow‑up to confirm understanding of documentation requirements.
- Provide education to new internal or contractor staff on audit software, EPIC, internal audit plan, work queue assignments, and more.
- Monitor work queues regularly to ensure timely resolution of charges/questions and perform quality assurance reviews.
- Lead billing compliance risk‑based audits and resulting education with the Compliance Office.
- 6 years of experience in a professional billing environment with emphasis on coding, auditing and/or compliance responsibilities.
- Certifications:
(CPC) Certified Professional Coder upon hire or (CCS) Certified Coding Specialist upon hire or (CMC) Certified Medical Coder upon hire or (CPMA) Certified Prof Medical Auditor within 1 year. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree and (RN) Registered Nurse upon hire. - Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
- Work‑From‑Home (WFH) opportunity; candidates must live in Texas.
