We are looking for an ABA assistant supervisor to provide direct services and supervision for our in-home, community, and school services using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Our ABA Assistant Supervisor is an experienced behavior therapist skilled at understanding client and student behavior and assisting in creating behavior support plans under the director of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, which facilitates success for the client. - Provide direct care to clients in a home and community setting using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Provide weekly consultation and guidance to educators and administrators to support classroom and individualized behavior support systems using MTSS.
- Be responsible for preventing and intervening with clients’ challenging behaviors.
- Learn specialized behavior approaches and implement behavioral strategies under the guidance of a case supervisor/BCBA.
- Attend any required training and staff meetings and complete all assigned readings.
- Assist the Board Certified Behavior Analyst in providing case oversight to BT/RBT.
- Effectively present complex information on behavior, behavioral assessment, and behavior plan implementation to staff.
- Model effective behavioral interventions with parents, special education students, district staff, and administrators using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles in school and home applications.
- Help to improve the client’s communication skills, social skills, play skills, motor skills, self-help skills, school readiness skills, and self-management skills.
- Maintain accurate records through daily documentation of student progress and adherence to prescribed behavior plans.
- Work collaboratively with the client’s parent, teacher, school psychologist, and other allied specialists to implement positive interventions.
- Travel to and from the client’s school/home as needed.
- Schedule regular community visits with caregivers to review program effectiveness.
- Provide parent training and education as needed.
- Make observations, collect data, and chart progress.
- Provide coaching and clinical support.
- Review data and reports submitted by the direct care team and update ABS individualized programs to assure programs reflect each child’s development and progress towards identified goals.
- Keep office personnel updated with pertinent documentation for each child.
- Understand and adhere to IDEA regulations in school settings.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or a related field.
- Strong background in applying principles of ABA.
- Background in trauma-focused evidence-based practices.
- Be available part-time, 15-20 hours per week.
- Experience working in or with schools.
- Able to participate and complete mandatory Non-Violent Crisis Prevention/CPI training, utilize all aspects of this training in an instructional setting when necessary, and adhere to certification guidelines and restrictions.
- Two years of experience working with students with special needs.
- High proficiency in modern office technology, equipment, and procedures.
- Can provide reliable transportation to and from cases (including sub-cases when cancellations occur).
- Must clear a current background check.
- A current TB Test (within the last six months).
- COVID-19 Vaccination for in‑school cases.
- You must be willing to travel to and from the Long Beach, South Bay, and South Los Angeles areas.
- Hold appropriate automobile insurance limits that allow driving a personal vehicle for work (25/50k liability coverage).
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
