Role Summary

The Program Officer (PO) will be responsible for leading Max programs that deliver essential treatment, care, and support to patients in Asia & Eastern Europe in support of our organizational mission to accelerate health equity globally. The PO will play a key role in program planning and implementation, documenting processes, and reporting outcomes.

Additionally, the PO will work closely with a diverse group of external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, partner organizations, government authorities, patient advocates, patients, caregivers, and supply chain partners to ensure effective program execution. They will also collaborate with internal teams at country, regional, and global levels to maintain alignment with our organizational mission and goals.

The PO will provide valuable insight into the healthcare systems in Asia & Eastern Europe, will drive significant change, and will contribute to the success of Max programs, making a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Max programs across assigned countries in Asia and Eastern Europe, in alignment with the organization’s strategy. This includes managing treatment access programs, Social Determinants of Health initiatives, and other activities aimed at improving patient well-being. Ensure adherence to outlined procedures, gather and document all necessary information, and conduct follow‑ups as required.
  • Collaborate with regional team members to ensure program compliance and address country-specific needs. Develop and implement initiatives to meet in‑country priorities and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation and record‑keeping in the program database. Ensure the accuracy of all program data.
  • Provide periodic reporting updates on program progress status and stakeholder engagement including physicians, and patient groups, local authorities, industry partners to the Regional Program Manager (RPM).
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain department to accurately forecast and ensure the timely supply of medication for patients on a monthly basis.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with partner physicians & their staff, patient groups, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure smooth program implementation through effective relationship management.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc projects or specific tasks as assigned by the RPM and/or Region Head (RH). Support the team in achieving program goals and objectives.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to enhance competency and program management skills and stay updated on best practices and industry developments pertinent to the Program Officer role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in a healthcare‑related field; experience in nonprofit or global health settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in database management and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a meticulous approach to documentation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in addressing requests with professionalism, identifying issues, and developing effective solutions.
