Job SummaryNewham CAMHS is recruiting a full time Children & Young People's CBT Practitioner within the Wellbeing in Newham Schools Team (Mental Health Support Team - MHST). The post-holder works within Newham CAMHS WINS providing assessments and interventions in and around local schools. The successful candidate will be a registered EMHP and confident in delivering CBT evidence based interventions to children and young people within schools.

Main Duties of the Job- Delivery of CBT based interventions for low mood and anxiety in educational settings across the borough, as per the MHST model and supporting development of the service.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with professionals, agencies, charities and teams who also provide services to children and young people.
- Action the 3 core functions of an MHST: deliver evidence‑based interventions for mild‑to‑moderate mental health issues, support the senior mental health lead in each school or college to introduce or develop a whole‑school approach, and give timely advice to school and college staff while liaising with external specialist services to ensure children and young people get the right support and stay in education.

Person Specification Education / Qualification / Training Essential- A registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. EMHP, CWP, CBT Therapy) from a UK university or overseas equivalent standard.

- Physical effort: confined sitting position (therapy); travelling within the community.

- Working flexibly across different education settings, CAMHS clinic and work from home delivering virtually.

occasional verbal and physical abuse; unpredictable clinical scenarios; travel in all weathers; based on different sites on different days.
- Experience working with children and young people with mild to moderate emotional and behavioural needs.
- Experience with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
- Experience working with families, schools and partner organisations to support young people with challenging behaviours.
- Experience delivering evidence‑based parent groups and psychoeducation groups.
- Experience of risk assessment and risk management.
- Experience, skills and flexibility to contribute to and facilitate effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
