We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of requests for pharmaceutical products across the Trust by the dispensing and issuing of prescriptions, signed orders and controlled drugs orders.
The job holder will also be expected to give accurate and direct counselling and advice to patients and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products on a daily basis, and supervise student pharmacy technicians, pharmacy support workers, trainees and clerical staff in their day‑to‑day tasks.
Under current Home Office Immigration Rules, this role does not meet the UK Visas and Immigration criteria and the position is not therefore eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. Applications from candidates that require skilled worker sponsorship will NOT be shortlisted.

Main duties of the job- Provide comprehensive technical support to all members of the department in the provision of a dispensary service.
- Provide a high level of input into the provision of a clinical pharmacy service to wards and departments.
- Concentrate for long periods of time with frequent interruption to deal with other dispensary issues as they occur.
- Give accurate and direct counselling and advice to patients and clinical staff on pharmaceutical products on a daily basis.
- Liaise with pharmacists and technical staff to ensure a proficient and comprehensive medicines management service to patients and staff.
- Comply with all Trust and departmental policies and standard operating procedures on a daily basis.
- Participate by agreement in departmental rotas for Bank Holiday working.
- Undertake such duties as may be required to maintain a safe and effective pharmacy service.

- Maintaining a satisfactory awareness of current national pharmacy technical issues.
- Ensure that all services delivered by the Pharmacy accord with clinical governance criteria in relation to aspects such as risk management, adherence to the Duthie report and concordance with appropriate Trust policies and guidelines.
- Advising medical and nursing staff on drug use and encouraging compliance with the Trust Formulary at all times in order to foster rational and economic prescribing.
- Participating in audits associated with drug risk issues reported by medical, nursing and pharmacy staff.
- Providing a visiting technical service at remote sites according to the appropriate Service Level Agreements held with the Pharmacy department.
