This position is an onsite registration role at Benefis - East Campus in Great Falls, MT.

• The Inpatient Financial Counseling Specialist performs benefit education and validation, including face-to-face review of inpatient benefits, authorization, and collecting inpatient, observation, and outpatient liabilities throughout Ensemble Health Partners.
• Verify and calculate patient liabilities, including previous balances, collection of patient payments, and may require nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Follow organizational policies and processes while meeting the mission and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Assess and collect patient liabilities (copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and balances after financial assistance). Engage with patients face-to-face during stays to collect estimated patient liability.
• Work on various patient access, insurance eligibility, and follow-up reports as assigned.
• Facilitate daily in-house call reviews to validate payor sources with authorization for the current stay.
• Complete pre-registration and registration tasks, including registering patients at or prior to the date of service while attempting to collect the financial liability.
• Monitor missed collection opportunities for process improvements; make multiple daily attempts to visit a patient’s room if the patient is unavailable.
• Document accounts with patient liabilities daily; make follow-up calls to patients unable to pay while in-house; send post-discharge letters detailing estimated liability and payment options.
• Work with patients to sign consent to treat, observation, important Medicare messages, and other registration-related forms if applicable.
• Assist eligibility specialists in verifying insurance information, Medicaid and charity processing, and other tasks as needed.
• Run a daily census to determine patients with potential eligibility; assist in the collection and organization of outpatient orders related to current and future dates of service.

Experience We Love:

• 1+ years of customer service experience

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
