Job Summary
We are looking for individual to join our client's team as Certified Medical Coder to focus on inpatient coding in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will accurately code inpatient medical records, ensure compliance with federal, payer, and facility coding guidelines, and support coding quality and accuracy within the organization.
Job Description
- Accurately code inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding guidelines.
- Apply federal, payer, and facility-specific coding and billing regulations.
- Review clinical documentation for clarity, completeness, and compliance.
- Research and resolve coding-related questions or discrepancies.
- Utilize coding software such as 3M/HDS, EPIC, and Encoder tools efficiently.
- Provide guidance and support to other coding staff when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience; ED experience preferred.
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and medical coding software (3M/HDS, EPIC, Encoder).
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High School Diploma/GED, AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CCP.
- Certification: CCS required
- Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM
- This position requires a weekend schedule and will be converted to remote work after training.
- Up to $38.00 per hour depending on experience
