Position: National Sales Manager (m/f/x)- Medical Devices

National Sales Manager (m/f/x) – Medical Devices

Join the Solventum team as a National Sales Manager (NSM) to lead and grow our commercial footprint across South Africa. You will report to the Country Business Leader and collaborate with a high‑performing sales team to drive strategic growth and market penetration.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Lead and manage a high‑performing sales team across multiple regions.
  • Set, monitor, and exceed sales targets and market share objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, procurement leaders, distributors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify new business opportunities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams for market execution.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical sales practices.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies.
  • Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Represent the company at key industry events.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of relevant experience in Med Tech, Pharma, or Healthcare.
  • 8–12+ years in medical device/diagnostics/Med Tech, with 5–7 years in national sales leadership.
  • Field sales experience (territory/key account management).
  • Experience with medical devices, diagnostics, capital equipment, surgical equipment, or digital health.
  • Familiarity with both public and private healthcare sectors in South Africa.
  • Proven track record in meeting/exceeding national sales targets, strategy development, budgeting, and key account management.
  • Team leadership experience, including recruiting, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Regulatory and compliance knowledge (SAHPRA, SAMED, Med Tech Europe, POPIA).
  • Strong relationships with procurement managers, hospital administrators, clinical users, and distributors.
  • Additional skills: strategic planning, territory management, CRM proficiency, data‑driven decision making, digital health integration, communication, negotiation, problem solving, and adaptability.
Work Location & Travel
  • Hybrid eligible:
    Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to our Fourways office 1–2 days per week.
  • Travel:
    Up to 30% national/international travel.
  • Position requires driving a company vehicle, subject to pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history.
