Personal Care Worker-Rhinelander

Responsibilities

• Personal Care Worker (PCW) will be trained in the provision of personal care services and in each skill that the PCW is assigned, which can include but not limited to: assistance with bathing; toileting, including use of bedpan, urinal, commode or toilet; dressing and undressing; mobility and ambulating, including use of walker, cane and crutches; transfers, including bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse;
  
  changing of consumer(s) bed; laundering of bed linens and consumer(s) personal clothing; skin care (excluding wound care); care of eyeglasses and hearing aids; light cleaning in essential areas of home during personal care activities; meal preparation and meal serving.
• Promptly reporting changes in the consumer’s condition to the R.N. Case Manager.
• Completion of all time sheets and documentation necessary to maintain program services in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
• Maintaining confidentiality of consumer's information.

• Familiar with the philosophy and concepts of independent living.
• Ability to understand and carry out consumer instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to relate well to others.
• Good past employment references.
• Physical strength sufficient to perform essential functions of job.
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, and walk; use hands and fingers, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; bend; squat; twist and talk or hear; occasionally lift and/or move individuals using transferring techniques or assistive technology/equipment.
• Reliable vehicle or an alternate means of transportation to worksite required.
• Completion of interview and training conducted by PAS staff.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background results. Results based on relevance to position and in compliance with state and federal regulations for personal care workers.
