Role Overview

Full time Band 7 CBT therapist for a one year maternity cover post within the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders team at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

You will join a dynamic, busy and successful service and multidisciplinary team within the Psychology department which includes a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, 2 Clinical Psychologists, 3 CBT specialists, a psychotherapist, an Art Psychotherapist and Assistant Psychologists. The wider MDT includes nurses, dieticians, family therapists, consultant psychiatrists and a paediatrician who will provide active support and encouragement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide initial assessments of people referred to the service and deliver the initial treatment pathway and specialist psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions in line with evidence based treatment protocols.
  • Deliver clinical interventions to outpatients at individual and group levels.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary reviews of outpatients and be actively involved in the development and implementation of agreed care plans.
  • Participate in service related activities including research, service evaluation and audit activities.
  • Supervise other grades of staff as required and lead on projects in line with service needs.
  • Benefit from excellent and robust supervision (managerial and clinical) and monthly staff support from an external facilitator.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Knowledge, interest and skills in the clinical delivery of CBT and/or Family Based Interventions in both group and individual forms.
  • A strong interest in working with Eating Disorders; previous experience of working with young people with eating disorders is desirable.
  • Applicants requesting a split post will be considered, though the full‑time role is preferable.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the role.
