Board Certified Behavior Analyst - (Clinical Behavioral Specialist II) - Wheat Ridge Regional Center.

Overview

The Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) provides safe, secure, and therapeutic settings for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and co‑occurring mental health conditions. The Clinical Behavioral Specialist II (BCBA) will evaluate, assess, and implement evidence‑based behavior interventions, provide supervision and training to direct support staff, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individuals in achieving behavior goals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Behavior Plan Development:
    Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) in compliance with ICF Waiver regulations, and focus on decreasing maladaptive behavior while increasing adaptive skills.
  • Behavior Services Supervision and Training:
    Provide ongoing training and oversight to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), including those seeking or holding certifications such as RBT, BCBA, or BCaBA; deliver guidance to staff implementing the behavior program.
  • Data Analysis:
    Collect, graph, and interpret data from behavior plans; make clinical decisions based on comprehensive, continuous data analysis across multiple platforms.
  • Clinical Consultation and Team Meetings:
    Engage in regular consultation with WRRC teams, participating in Community Support Team (CST), Human Rights Committee (HRC), and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings; provide and receive feedback on behavior concerns, risk assessments, and treatment of dangerous behavior.
  • Other Duties:
    Stay current on physical management and de‑escalation training, attend relevant trainings and meetings, develop behavior analytic training for staff, participate in psychiatric appointments, and be part of after‑hours rotation.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements (8 years related experience or equivalent education/experience)

  • BCBA certification required; actively enrolled in a BACB verified course sequence or ability to pass the exam within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or behavior analysis.
  • Nationally certified BCBA or equivalent.
  • Two years of supervised experience developing and implementing behavioral support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Customer service, oral and written communication, teaching, and listening skills.
  • State service experience.
Conditions of Employment
  • Background checks: CDHS employee, IPV, Medicare, etc.
  • Colorado residency required at time of application and throughout employment.
  • Valid non‑restricted Colorado driver’s license (or U.S. license for positions within 30 miles of state border).
  • Shift work: 24/7 facility; evening/weekend work may be required.
  • Travel:
    Must travel to remote sites; use of state or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
  • Physical requirements:

    Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, kneel, squat, and perform physical interventions.
  • Former state employees with disciplinary termination must disclose and explain why not disqualifying.
